Three days of meetings, product presentations and awards came to end when the 11th Computing & Communications Expo – AITEC 2007 closed its doors on Friday 26 October. AITEC 2007 was staged at the National Theatre for the first time in its 11 year history in Accra.

In 2007, it was announced that oil in commercial quantities had been discovered off the western coast of Ghana. Since the discovery, estimates of potential reserves range between 2-4 billion barrels. Tullow Oil Plc is investing $3.2 billion and the first oil is expected to flow in 2010. Key stakeholders in the success of Ghana’s oil and gas industry will assemble in Takoradi to learn more about its potential. According to Tullow CFO, Ian Springett, there are substantial gas and oil deposits with a very high commercial value in the Tano block.
