Christmas 2009 will be a truly memorable occasion for discerning wine connoisseurs in Cheltenham
 Call My Wine Bluff, to be held in Pittville Pump Room is a game of seven rounds. You will be divided into teams of ten and presented with seven wines to taste throughout the course of the evening, without the benefit of sight of labels!
The Call My Wine Bluff panel consists of Ted Sandbach, Managing Director of The Oxford Wine Company, Julian White, raconteur extraordinaire, Burgundy expert and proprietor of Julian White Agencies, and Robin Shuckburgh, Wine merchant, writer and broadcaster.
These three brilliant and erudite wine experts will each give an amusing, informative and highly convincing description of exactly what the wine you are drinking is. However, two of the panel will be unashamedly lying through their teeth and your team will have to decide which of the panel is innocent of such deception. Points will be awarded for getting it right and also for guessing the price of the wines.  After six or seven rounds, you, the audience, by this time enjoying the effects of the delicious wines and no longer basing your decisions on cold logic and sound knowledge, will have a clear idea of exactly how little you really know about wine! It must be noted that the wine on each table will be accompanied by canapés and iced water. Prizes will be awarded and the captain of the Cheltenham Winning Team will be introduced to the fine art of removing the cork from a bottle of Champagne with a sabre! Be assured of a highly entertaining evening, had by one and all! |
